Jeff and Catie Francoeur Deliver Holiday Joy to 7 Atlanta Families
Dec. 10, 2008
Jeff Francoeur and his wife Catie were reflecting on how very blessed they were feeling this holiday season. That's when they decided to spread the joy to seven Atlanta-area families who could use a little extra holiday cheer this year. The two contacted 790 The Zone, who put out a call on-air for listeners to nominate families who could use a bit of cheer this season. They also worked with the wonderful staff at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta to find several more families who, because of their children's conditions, would be spending Christmas in the hospital.
"We really wanted to open up our hearts to families in need this year," said Catie Francoeur. "These families are going through things we can't possibly imagine, and we wanted to give them even the smallest things they needed."
The Francoeurs worked with many generous businesses around Atlanta, as well as dug into their own pockets, to fill seven Christmas baskets with everything from flat-screen TVs to DVD players, toys, stuffed animals, Under Armour clothing, games, gift certificates and food.
On Sunday, Dec. 7, Jeff and Catie delivered the first set of baskets to the four families around the Atlanta area, which were nominated through 790 The Zone. The next day, they visited Children's Healthcare of Atlanta to deliver the remaining three baskets to families in the Aflac Cancer Center.
"This experience will be something we'll never forget," said Jeff Francoeur. "It's amazing what each of these families has had to go through, so it feels incredible to be able to provide them with something special this Christmas."
Jeff and Catie Francoeur would like to thank the following for donating to their Christmas baskets in 2008:
Atlanta Braves
Home Depot
Chris and Carrie Dimino
Aflac
Kroger
